The internationally-acclaimed Turner Contemporary art gallery leads the creative charge with cool individual galleries and studios emerging across Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate.
Amongst the cobbled streets of Margate Old Town, you will find a growing number of independent galleries - Pie Factory, The Eclectic Art Gallery, alongside studios and workshops which showcase local and national artists work, with the opportunity to pick up a piece of work.
Dotted around the harbour and side streets of Broadstairs you will find individual galleries such as New Kent Art Gallery and Broadstairs Gallery offering limited prints, panoramic photographs and exhibitions of local work
Not to be outdone by Margate’s offering, Ramsgate has its own artistic appeal with York Street Gallery exhibiting works by local artists and The Gallery at Nice Things. Ramsgate was where Vincent Van Gogh spent time as a teacher and resident. A bust of the artist, created by sculptor Anthony Padgett, can be seen in Spencer Square.
Come in August sees Thanet Open Studios whilst in October East Kent Artists' Open Houses finds artists and artisans opening their studios, galleries and homes showcasing their work
