Dog Friendly Beaches
The sandy beaches of Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate offer the perfect playground for dogs to let off some steam running around chasing a ball or jumping in the waves. Dogs are permitted on most of our beaches all year round with restrictions in place between 1st May and 30th September. There are beach byelaws and some restrictions to help protect our coastline and the marine, bird and wildlife around it
Sharing the Coast with our Wildlife
Don’t forget to watch out for winter birds during October to March, as they can be easily disturbed by dogs and need to be protected. To find out more about responsible dog walking and how you can look after our coastal environment, click here.
Dog Training Videos
Bird Wise East Kent has teamed up with Beeching Animal Behaviour Consultancy to create a series of training videos for dogs and their owners, each focussing on a specific command: Sit, Stay, Leave, Heel and Recall. The videos show how you can safely share the coast with nature and avoid disturbing migratory birds, they are available on YouTube.
*Please help keep walks enjoyable for all by being a responsible owner: Keep dogs in sight, bag and bin, and watch out for birds and wildlife*
