Tom Thumb Theatre

Arts, Culture and Entertainment

The Tom Thumb Theatre was originally built as a Victorian coach house, and the building was transformed into one of the smallest theatres in the world in 1984.

A mix of Japanese and Alpine Architecture, with a quirky, charming interior of 50 velvet seats and flocked wallpaper.

There is a bar for a pre-show drink or post-show tipple

Programme of events includes

  • Spoken-word nights
  • Comedy
  • Story-telling and burlesque
  • Film screenings
  • Live bands, solo performers and DJs

Private hire is available for birthday parties, video and music shoots, and rehearsals.

Access Information

There is one step to the entrance, and a ramp is available for use, with prior notice. Someone is able to assist, if prior notice is given.

The Theatre itself is on one level, but the bar is upstairs with no lift or alternative access. The Theatre is very small and dimly-lit at times.

There are no accessible toilets available on site, and parking is on-road with no designated accessible bays.
